Pastor Jeff's Personal Testimony: Responding to God's Call
2025-01-15 · Pastor Jeff
At a very young age, God called me out of darkness into an extraordinary journey.
I was born into an environment heavily entrenched in idolatry and folk superstitions. My father was a fortune-teller, and growing up, I witnessed firsthand many supernatural occurrences that defied human reason—manifestations of dark spiritual realms. Yet, during my university years, I heard the undeniable calling of God to serve Him full-time. To the world, abandoning my academic path seemed like absolute madness. But the fire of obedience could not be quenched. Three years after university, I stepped into full-time pastoral ministry.
My family, completely blind to the truth, could not comprehend this. In their eyes, I had simply become a fanatic who went to church and associated with "eccentric" people. In an attempt to stop me, they tricked me into coming home and locked me away for nearly a month and a half. That was the first time I tasted persecution for Christ. The loss of physical freedom was painful, but the deepest agony was watching my own flesh and blood remain blinded by pride, trapped in the chains of idolatry. That wilderness trial took place three years before my full-time ministry truly flourished.
As a young pastor running purely on God's calling and spiritual passion, without conventional or systematic seminary training, the challenges I faced in China were staggering. In this cultural context, many rejected my identity. Society always tends to label pastors as "poor, low-class preachers," and cold shoulders and ridicule followed me constantly. However, the Lord sustained me by pouring out distinct spiritual gifts during the early days of my ministry. In dreams and deep intercession, God would frequently reveal to me hidden matters about strangers' past lives and unfolding future events. These gifts of the Words of Knowledge and the Prophetic became God's sovereign stamp of validation upon my ministry, making it relatively much easier for me to minister to intellectual and highly capable social elites with supernatural authority.
Over the years, while many have chosen to leave this land for various reasons, and though I, too, have had every opportunity to depart, I can find absolutely no reason to leave. Whenever I look upon this fields, I see countless souls desperately weeping in the dark. They need the Gospel. They need the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. I have been sent to this harvest, and here I shall stay, co-laboring with Him.
